The 10th Session with the Lord in His Court (Thursday, 30th - Friday, 31st December, 2010)

Theme:  "In everything we have won more than  victory because of Christ who loves us." - Romans 8:37 (CEV).

SPECIAL SESSION'S MESSAGE
By:  Pastor R. F. Symperr

TITLE:  CONQUERING THE GIANTS OF 2011
Study Texts:  Romans 8:13-39; and Numbers 13:25-33.

Compliments of the season to you, my partner in ministry, and your loved ones.  I wish you God's blessings without limits as you step into 2011 in Jesus' name, Amen.

The clock is ticking by the second, minute and hour to draw the curtain of 2010 and to usher in the glorious 2011, your year of wellness on every side.

As 2010 terminates in few hours from now, it is expedient that you and I take a time out to carry out a stock-taking exercise, a time to count our blessings as well as losses.  And by means of this, we shall be able to plan and prepare our way into the incoming year, 2011.  This assessment exercise, among others, shall help us to identify those grey areas that require impeccable attentions for improvement.  So far, in the outgoing year, 2010, what is the strength of your relationship with God through prayer and fasting? What is the distance between sin and you?  Do you have a  close companionship with God's word? And how positively did you life affect others around you?  Be sincere to yourself, if God shows you your scorecard for this year, are you sure you'll score a pass mark?

No doubt, challenges rared their ugly heads during the outgoing year.  But the Lord has been faithful for being there to see us through.  He kept us in the hollow of His hand such that all satanic efforts over our lives were void.

In Romans 8:37 (CEV), Paul, the apostle, said, "In everything we have won more than victory because of Christ who loves us."  Casting your mind back to the beginning of 2010, I believe there were occasions you found yourself at a crossroad but the faithful God came to your rescue. Shout "Halleluyah!"

However, it is imperative for you to know, at this juncture, that 2011shall also come with its own attendant challenges and giants that determine to confront you as you journey through the incoming year.  The word of God has gone forth concerning the goodies that 2011 has for us, but like the twelve men in Numbers chapter 13 who returned with a report after exploring the land of Canaan, the incoming year is a year flowing with milk and honey.  And in spite the huge presence of giants, let's choose never to be like the ten spies whose report brought discouragement, murmuring and complaints into the camp of the Israelites that led to the mass killing of the people by God such that they didn't enter the promised land.  But let's cultivate the attitude of Caleb and Joshua who tore their clothes in sorrow and said, "We saw the land ourselves, and it's very good.  If we obey the Lord, He will surely give us that land rich with milk and honey.  So don't rebel.  We have no reason to be afraid of the people who live there.  The Lord is on our side, and they won't stand a chance against us!" (Numbers 14:6-9) CEV.

The giants of 2011 may take the form of financial, spiritual, marital or physical challenges, but you must be ready and prepared to confront them as they come if you must get to the place of your glory in 2011.  Don't be afraid of their sizes or be scared of their intimidation but be determined to confront them by faith with the understanding that you have a very big God, the Lion of the tribe of Juday, resident in you.  Note that those who fear often times die before the battle begins.

As you step into 2011, you must never allow those Anakims, the Amalekites, the Hittites, the Jebusites, the Amorites and the Canaanites in that year to rob you of God's kindness and peace which He had blessed you with (Ephesians 1:2).  Fear must be far from you because when you allow the fear of what you see to limit your speed, you will never attain greater heights in the incoming year.

Finally, if you must enjoy victories without limits over those giants ambushing against you and all that are yours in 2011, you must learn to fear God and God only; you must choose to walk with and work for God; you must be in the place of prayer at all times (Romans 12:12b); you must be a good companion of God's word (Joshua 1:8; Psalms 119 vs 11, 15 & 115); you must trust in the Lord by making Him your first and last resort (Psalms 118:8); you must choose to win by righteousness by fleeing every appearance of sin and compromise; you must learn to take care of God's needy people and welcome strangers into your home; you must learn to ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you and ask Him to bless them and not to curse them; you must be friendly with everyone; don't be proud and feel that you know more than others; and lastly, do your best to live at peace with everyone.  As you adhere strictly with these rules for Christian living in 2011, the Lord shall give you the grace and power to beat down all giants on your way to the place of your glory in Jesus' name, Amen.

Welcome to your year of greater heights and wellness.

Shallom!

The 9th Session with the Lord in His Court (Thursday, 23rd - Friday, 24th December, 2010)

Message for the Week by Sis. Annah Ozigagu

TITLE: OH GOD, MY FATHER, BE KIND TO ME AND BLESS ME WITH YOUR PEACE

Texts: Romans 1:7; 1 Corinthians 1:3; 2 Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:3; Ephesians 1:2; Philippians 1:2; Colossians 1:2; 1 Thes. 1:1; 2 Thes. 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:2; Titus 1:4; Philemon 3; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Peter 1:2; 2 John 3; and Jude 2.

WHAT IS PEACE?
Peace, in ordinary point of view, can be defined as the absence of war or disturbance. It can also be seen as a situation where one is free from anxiety or distress. However, from God’s perspective, peace is not just the absence of war or freedom from anxiety but how one manages crisis in difficult moments or the ability to manage crisis.

In our race here on earth, we all have one or two difficulties/challenges confronting us and all we need do is to hand over everything to God in prayer asking that his will be done in our lives because with God all things are possible. There is no mountain in our lives that is too high for God to handle. In so doing, you are asking God to fight your battles completely for you and you will experience absolute peace in your life.

Peace cannot be bought with money and it is only God that gives peace. Why not surrender those things giving you sleepless night at the feet of Jesus on the cross and allow Him fight your battles for you so that absolute peace will reign in your life because peace is very essential in the life of a true believer.

Once God is gracious and merciful and He blesses you with peace, then, you are made and you will live a crisis-free life and you see yourself excelling in all areas of your life, whether in good or in bad times. Our reaction to the harshness of crisis is what differentiates us from unbelievers.

WHAT CAUSES LACK OF PEACE IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER

1. Fear of the unknown, future, anxiety and worry (Job 3:25-26; Matt. 6:25-34; Mark 6:45-52; Luke 12:22-31).

2. Lack of faith (Matt. 14:22-32; John 6:16-21).

3. Helping God to solve our problems by not surrendering totally to His will. It is worthwhile that you know that Heaven will never help you if you can help yourself, but help can only come from Heaven for those who cannot help themselves.

SOLUTION

1. We should not be afraid of situations or circumstances that will come our way because God told us not to be afraid that He is with us always even till the end of age.

2. Do not worry or be anxious of anything because if we do, our peace will be stolen away (Proverbs 12:25). The Lord is telling us not to worry about anything but pray about everything (Philippians 4:6). God created us all and He feeds the ants and creatures of the earth, how much more about you whom He created in His own image and likeness (Mat.6:25-30).

3. We should always learn to trust God at all times no matter how difficult the situation is (Prov.3:5). God never fails but if we put our trust in men, they will surely fail us.

4. Surrender totally to the will of God. Seek solution in the house of God instead of running helter skelter for solution elsewhere.

FOR FURTHER STUDIES READ:

Lev.1:2; Numbers 6:26; I Tim.1:2, Philemon 1:3, Gal.5:22

CONCLUSION

If we wholeheartedly surrender all our challenges, troubles, fears and worries at the feet of Jesus, then we will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand and His peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.Philipian47.

When we handover everything to Him, we are asking Him to perfectly fight for us. Seek the face of God daily in prayers and through the constant study of the word of God in order for us to experience His peace and for spiritual growth. Always remember to ask God to bless you with His peace most especially in our difficult moments.

May the Lord bless us with His peace through Christ our Lord, Amen.
